According to a new poll, Aussies trust NZ Prime Minister Christopher Luxon more than any other world leader.

The Lowy Institute reported that 44 percent of surveyed Australians had “some confidence” in the Kiwi Prime Minister to “do the right thing regarding world affairs”, while 19 percent said they had “a lot of confidence”, totalling 63%.

The poll suggested more Australians trust Christopher Luxon over their own Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, who just recently returned to Australian parliament for a second term as Leader.

Jacinda Ardern and Chris Hipkins have also been voted first on the list over the past two years.

Luxon’s net confidence rating, which subtracts those who voted little or no confidence, beat out French President Emmanuel Macron (37 percent) and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer (36 percent).

Both the US and Russia presidents scored in the negatives, with Donald Trump coming in at -47 and Vladimir Putin scoring -80

Aotearoa also topped the  “feels thermometer”, measuring Australians’ warmth towards other nations, at a very temperate 85 degrees.
