Rumour has it the board will include meth labs, mud baths, and community chest cards that send you to jail for ram raids.
This Monopoly board will mark the sixth Kiwi version of the popular game, and if it’s anything like the others, it’s bound to be riddled with mistakes that will leave avid Monopoly players disheartened.
In 2013, Auckland was the first of our cities to be monopolised, which was set to be an exciting prospect. However, people quickly noticed a major typo after the manufacturer, Winning Moves, misspelt K Road (Karanghape Rd).
This isn’t the first time a Monopoly board has caused controversy in NZ. In 2017, Wellingtonians were left disappointed when the top three most popular spots, Wainuiomata, The Roxy Cinema, and the Bucket Fountain were left off the board.
Hopefully, it’s sixth time lucky, and this new board will be an accurate and realistic representation of Rotorua.
