A local Wellington barista has devised an ingenious way to combine two things the Capital city is known for, coffee and a housing crisis.

The barista has invented a new type of coffee called the “Flat White Flat” which is a regular flat white coffee in a small cup, overpriced, lukewarm with a leaky lid.

The coffee shop owner said they wanted to bring two things Wellington was most known for and put them together.

“Well, when we decided to create a new type of coffee, we wanted something that would cause a commotion and bring attention to our shop and this was what we decided on”.

The new coffee has brought lots of attention to the store and although it’s not the greatest to drink as it’s leaky and slightly cold it’s considered more of a statement piece.

The shop is now thinking of new combinations for coffee to represent different places, perhaps an Auckland coffee combining unpredictable weather and bad traffic.
