The 37th America’s Cup will be on the way home once again after Team New Zealand completed the three-peat against Ineos Britannia.

In their bid to win the Auld Mug for the third time running, Team NZ only needed one point in Barcelona to seal the victory.

On a light and calm day, Team NZ beat Ineos Britannia by 37s to close out a 7-2 series win and make history as the first team to win three in a row.

“What an amazing feeling,” Team NZ starboard helmsman Peter Burling said.

“It’s been a tough battle all week, but an amazing scoreline and I’m really proud of the way the team just kept battling today.”

Although Ineos Britannia punished them after making a couple of errors, Team NZ sailed a predominantly clean regatta, picking the shifts and getting the better of their counterparts.

“A huge well done to Team New Zealand,” Ineos Britannia starboard helmsman Sir Ben Ainslie said.

“What an amazing campaign and team. In my view, I think they’re the best team ever in the America’s Cup. It’s quite an achievement so well done to them.”
