Tiktok “chef” Peter Earley otherwise known as Early Pete on TikTok has thrown shade at the classic Kiwi dish spaghetti and cheese on toast labelling it “worse than slop they serve in cafeterias”.

Early Pete has made a name for himself across social media platforms for making videos discussing foods from around the world.

Most recently he made a video discussing the classic Kiwi comfort food spaghetti and cheese on toast that ruffled a lot of Kiwi feathers.

He starts by saying we have been lying to everyone about our food.

“They claim to the public they’ve been serving seasonal ingredients and local produce. If that’s true, explain this. A New Zealand classic”.

Early Pete blasted our creation saying we have lost all culinary credibility.

“New Zealand, you have lost all credibility in criticising other country’s food. I mean this is worse than a lot of the slop they serve in American cafeterias. This is worse than a lot of the boiled dinners that people call food across the world”.

It’s safe to say that his not so kind words did not go down lightly with many Kiwi’s flaming him in the comments.

“Wait till he hears about a knuckle sandwich,” one said.

Another wrote “oi, spaghetti and cheese on toast is God tier” while a third said “wait till he hears about the pie sandwich”.

Another commenter weighed in saying “Seriously don’t mock our food, spaghetti and cheese on toast is comfort food it’s the bomb”.

Us Kiwi’s are usually kind people but when it comes to our food it’s best to stay quiet.
