In a bid to become Kiwi’s favourite department store, The Warehouse has decided to branch out and start selling art, albeit being AI generated and slightly altered to avoid copyright infringements.

This new business move will elevate them from just a plain old store to potentially New Zealand’s biggest art dealer, rivalling even that of Park West Gallery known to be the biggest art dealers in the world.

This comes after The Warehouse introduced a new “marketplace” feature similar to Amazon; however, many have said this is the worst thing to happen to The Warehouse since Kmart.

With one person saying “Marketplace is the worst addition to the Warehouse website. I don’t want to see random stores and need to filter it out on everything”.

Another saying “The whole ‘marketplace’ thing is so terrible”

However, other users took a more lighthearted approach and targeted the art directly.

“Well, this impugns the reputation of all Warehouse art!” one person said.

Another said “ahh damn this will devalue all the other fine arts i bought from there”

It will be interesting to see how The Warehouse navigates the fickle world of fine art.
