When police arrested a 26-year-old man in Dunedin for allegedly growing cannabis, they were taken aback to discover not only a substantial amount of drugs but also an astonishing 32 phones.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond explained that the raid on July 8th, which uncovered 12.83 kilograms of drying cannabis, also revealed 240 grams of cannabis and 70 grams of a white crystal believed to be ketamine.
The man was charged with cultivating cannabis, two charges each of possession for supply of cannabis plant, and possession for supply of stimulants.
Defending his extensive collection of phones, the man insisted that he was providing tech support for a “side hustle”
The man is expected to appear in the Dunedin district court soon.
