A 19-year-old accounting firm intern has been labelled as a “tech wizard” and the local “IT guy” after fixing the most basic technology issues.
Josh Brown, an accounting student at the University of Auckland has recently started an internship at a local firm and has become quite the office celebrity.
This started when he was in a work meeting and the rest of the team struggled to connect a laptop to the TV when Josh simply got up and changed the source from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2.
Since then he has helped various team members make simple tech fixes such as assisting a team member share their screen, turning the wifi off and on again and converting a Word document to a PDF.
Josh said he was confused at first but is growing to appreciate the praise and attention he is getting.
“At first I wasn’t too sure why everyone was surprised, they think I’m some tech wizard who can do anything”.
The head of the company has said that after everything he has done, we will be trying to get him on a full-time basis.
