A Mount Albert pie shop is attempting to cater to their four-legged friends by introducing a ‘cat flavoured’ pie to their menu.
Muzza’s Pies brainstormed the idea after they noticed many customers giving a bite of their pies to their furry mates.
Luckily and legally enough, the shop does not harm cats but instead uses a blend of rabbit and fish to mimic the taste.
The pies are being sold in a miniature-sized bakery replica right outside the shop, and for every pie sold, Muzza’s Pies donates 10 per cent to Chained Dog Rehabilitation and Rehoming – a local shelter.
The owner of Muzza’s Pies, John Williams, said that they’ve always been about “bringing people together over great pies.”
“We’ve seen firsthand how much our customers love sharing a treat with their dogs, so we wanted to create something special just for them while also giving back to dogs in need,” Williams said.
“Let’s be honest, the idea of replicating cat flavours in a pie for dogs gave us a good laugh, we just had to do it,” he added.
