It’s going from bad to worse for iconic Queenstown burger joint Fergburger as another customer has detailed her “horror” experience with the spot.
This comes just weeks after the restaurant came under fire after an employee allegedly put a racial slur on a customer’s receipt.
The employee was then dismissed due to “unjustified behaviour” confirmed Fergburger General Manager Claire Burke.
In this newest case, however, a customer was left feeling “abused” after staff members allegedly made sexual remarks and didn’t fulfil her order, after she ordered a steak last Friday.
“They were making fun of me, saying, ‘Oh she wants the meat’, and asking me why I only want the ‘meat’, laughing at me and repeating… ‘she wants the meat, she wants the meat’, the customer alleged in a Facebook post.
Despite waiting almost 40 minutes the customer said she left without getting her food and paying.
In a statement, Burke said the company has been made aware of the allegations and has contacted the customer directly.
“Our current priority is to understand the circumstances surrounding this complaint. To ensure compliance with legal obligations, under the Employment Relations Act 2000, we are currently investigating this allegation.”
“I have extended an invitation to meet with the customer in person to discuss their experience and serious concerns; however, this offer has not been taken up at this time.
