Are you looking to head overseas for a cheeky holiday? But flight prices are astronomical, well with Qantas frequent flyer program it is possible to snag “free” flights (kinda).

Last month, Qantas and Air NZ launched their everyday rewards partnerships, meaning every time you shop at Woolworths or fill up at BP you will earn points and earn enough you will be able to get a flight out of Aotearoa.

Qantas has also partnered with BNZ, so if you have a BNZ Advantage card, you can transfer BNZ points across to Qantas rewards.

The Aussie Airline also has partnerships with Airbnb, Avis car rental, and Accor Hotel bookings so you can earn points wherever you are travelling to.

So, how do you actually acquire these “free” flights? Well it sounds pretty simple: spend more, get more points and get a free flight. The more you shop at your preferred airline rewards partner, whether it’s your groceries or your next hotel booking, the more airline points you’ll earn.

You can almost “hack” the system by strategically choosing where you shop and when you book your flights, hot tip, reward seats are usually more available during mid week.
