New data has revealed some of the most popular streets and suburbs in New Zealand.
Trade Me Property collated data from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch to find the most popular streets and suburbs by searches in July.
Auckland
In Tāmaki Makaurau, the love affair with the same old suburbs continues. Remuera, Mt Eden, and Grey Lynn topped the charts again for most-searched suburbs.
With its staggering average asking price of $2,414,750, Remuera has once again lured in buyers who fancy being close to Newmarket, Parnell, and the city’s gridlocked motorways.
Wellington
Across the Cook Strait in Wellington, Hataitai, Khandallah, and Thorndon led the search pack.
Hataitai, on the other side of the Mount Vic Tunnel, remains a favourite due to its schools, its slightly less brutal winds, and the fact that it’s just close enough to the CBD to still claim smugness without enduring the full downtown hustle.
Christchurch
Further down in the Garden City, Christchurch’s finest, Fendalton, Cashmere, and Merivale took out the top spots.
With Fendalton’s average asking price of $1,713,200, it’s clear that Cantabrians are still keen on snapping up homes with decent-sized lawns where they can pretend they’re living the country life.
