A deal gone extremely wrong is the only way to describe this situation as a man was reportedly shot in leg in a fielding park to buy a pair of $2000 shoes.
Police had said a person was found with leg injuries after reports of a firearm being discharged at Kowhai Park, the man was then taken to hospital.
A friend of the victim said two men had gone to the park to purchase the $2000 shoes after the victim and perpetrators had connected through an online marketplace.
After they had arrived at the park about 4pm, the buyers were confronted by three masked people, one allegedly armed with a .22 rifle, in a car demanding money.
One of the would-be buyers was shot in the leg, and the masked men then stole the buyers’ mobile phones and other belongings.
A witness at the scene said the victim parked in a car park and the other car parked right behind them
“The chap with the gun has immediately gone to the passenger’s door and shot him,”
The alleged shooter’s car then drove off, and the victim’s car also drove off.
