To create better-tasting and more “organic” milk, Kiwi farmers have introduced “Cow Yoga” to combat increasing stress levels in the animal.
This came after one dairy farmer’s wife said that yoga helps her relieve stress and makes her feel more grounded, increasing her productivity.
The farmer then had a lightbulb moment and early the next morning he took his cows out to the pasture to instruct his first-ever cow yoga class.
He found after three yoga sessions a week the cows were under less stress and started producing better tasting milk.
Word spread fast and soon many farmers started implementing weekly yoga classes for their stock.
One farmer reported that his cows know when yoga is and will wait eagerly for class to start.
“My cows having loving class lately all of them come prepared and wait at the pasture a around 5am”
