As New Zealand welcomes in Field days this weekend, the southern hemisphere’s largest agriculture event stores such as RM Williams and Rodd n Gunn have been left with nothing as thousands of wannabe country boys have purchased anything with an RM Williams label in an attempt to find their country roots.
Sam a 21-year-old University of Auckland marketing student and a few of his mates will be travelling down to Hamilton next week for the event to “Reconnect” since he found out his grandfather’s brother lived on a farm 50 years ago and said “Its only right to live what he experienced”
When asked what sparked his interest in attending field days he said “Once I heard Fast Car by Luke Combs It got me in my feels” He had gone on to say I listened to a cover by Tracey Chapman I think, but it wasn’t the same”.
Armed with their brand new RM William’s clothes, unbroken In Cowboy boots and the four Zach Byran songs they found on Tiktok they are ready to fit in and thrive at this weekend’s agricultural extravaganza.
