It was a busy day all around the country with many children celebrating by fulfilling the halloween tradition by going trick or treating.
Traditionally, children would receive either lollies or chocolate in their haul, however this year they got more than they bargained for.
One child’s parents decided to go through and sort out all the goodies that had been given, but what they found shook them to their core.
In the little trick or treat bag they found New Zealand’s 3.3% inflation rate (the diet version of the 4.0% inflation rate).
Disgusted by this the parents took to facebook to voice their concern, in the post they wanted to find who was giving out these lolly wrapped reality checks.
“We were disgusted to find some monster had been giving out 3.3% inflation rates to our children last night, they are too young to be given these reality checks and they must be found”.
They urged other parents to check through their children’s trick or treat hauls, it is rumoured someone had been handing out Auckland housing prices.
