You know what they are, at least one person you know has a pair of these, hate them or love them they have a terrible reputation with ACC.

So far this year, ACC has paid out almost $2 million in “fall” related incidents involving jandals, high heels and crocs.

The number of croc related incidents has already surpassed last year’s numbers currently standing at 128 up from 109 this time last year.

Losing balance and or slipping and sliding is the most common way both jandal and croc enthusiasts sustain injuries.

At Least 10 people were somehow “struck by a person or animal” whilst wearing crocs, jandals or heels causing a significant enough injury to require ACC.

For the year to date, $1.3 million has been paid out relating to 495 people who needed to recover from jandal incidents that cost roughly $2900 per jandal incident.

For heel injuries, roughly $472,720 was paid out, and for Croc-related accidents, $63,797 was paid out.

The number of people hurt while wearing crocs has tripled between 2022 and 2023.
