The rumours are true, Auckland will become “brat” as Charli XCX has been announced as the headline act for St Jerome’s Laneway festival in February 2025.
This announcement means that thousands of attendees will participate in the viral Tik Tok dance to the singer’s song “apple” becoming one of the largest congregations of this dance in the southern hemisphere.
Although the organisers for Laneway refused to reveal any information regarding the acts until Wednesday morning there was speculation that Charli XCX would be the headline act as there was a neon green billboard popped up around Auckland with ‘laneway’ written in an Arial font remarkably similar to her latest album.
Auckland’s sky tower will be lit up “brat green” on October 10th as a sign of the singer’s announcement.
Joining Charli XCX will be Beabadoobee as well as Laneway alumni Clairo, UK dance star BICEP, pop artist Remi Wolf and dance floor expert Barry Can’t Swim.
