Welcome aboard Zing Airlines, New Zealand’s newest airline service. KFC has just launched a private jet to transport super rugby fans all across Aotearoa.
The Cessna Citation Sovereign jet will now transport fans and their mates all across New Zealand’s biggest cities from their home towns.
The flight path includes travel to Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, Christchurch and Dunedin across five carbon-neutral flights.
The fried chicken based fast food restaurant has been in partnership with all five of New Zealand’s super rugby teams (Blues, Chiefs, Hurricanes, Crusaders and Highlanders) for the past 12 years and is set to make its first flight on March 1st when the Hurricanes face the Blues in Wellington.
As of the 11th of February fans can enter the promotional competition by jumping onto the KFC app, adding the Zing Air Pass to cart and purchasing the minimum amount.
A night’s accommodation for two is also included in the prize.
This new initiative builds upon its Gravy Train campaign where fans were served free chicken on an Auckland Transport train to a Blues game at Eden Park last April.
“Last year we delivered fans to the game via the KFC Gravy Train and now, with KFC Zing Air, we’ve cooked up a brand-new way for fans to get even closer to the action, both on the field and in the sky,” said Restaurant Brands chief executive Arif Khan.
The aircraft itself is a mid-sized business jet with the ability to land in smaller airfields, it can carry up to eight passengers.
